What People are Saying About REDMAN

"I wanted to tell you that I have done a lot of races.   I also work for a race organizer myself.    This is the best race I have ever been to in my life.   There was not a moment in my 140.6 journey that I didn't feel supported.   You guys ROCK!"    (2008)

Thanks to all the race organizers and volunteers.   What a great race!
- Jeff Pilarski    2009

This was an awesome race!  I can't wait to do it again, maybe next time I will step up to the half iron.
- Josh Taylor    2009

I know it's been said, but I just wanted to thank all the people that helped pull off this event.  Well done.   What an example of perseverance!   I hope to be back, had my best race ever.
-  Aaron Williams    2009

Thanks for a great race; I had a blast!!!!
- Gina McCloskey     2009

I just wanted to tell you how much I/we enjoyed the Redman.  I’ve been an age group member of a few Team USA age groupers and traveled the world to races.  I race about 35 times per year across a spectrum of events from cyclocross to duathlon and triathlon.

The spirit of REDMAN is incredible.  As an older athlete I can tell you that it is the ONE race that I will set my heart on being able to complete as long as I am able to do so.

J. Thomas Pierce, PhD, MBBS    (2010)

I want to express my appreciation to all the race staff & volunteers who put on one of the best run races I have ever done.  The decision to dismount the bikes was brilliant...   Thanks for a great job.

Larry Krutka   (2009)

Thank you very much for such a well run event.  Your staff of volunteers was incredible.  I did not pass any volunteer or aid station that did not offer words of support and encouragement.

- Bryan P. Lyons, D.M.D.   (2007)
Methuen, MA

I can't say enough positively about the volunteers, I even met the mayor's wife - WOW!!

Of course a great course is important, but the volunteers and make or break it. So many high fives, kudos, and Thank you's to the volunteers.

S. White    (2010)

I cannot say enough good things about the Redman Full Distance Race. The volunteers were fantastic. The community support was outstanding. Specifically, I became dehydrated after the race and I was taken care of within a matter of seconds by an outstanding medical team!

I will let all my tri race family that the Redman is first class!

Jerry Sanford  (2010)

I have to say that this event was one of the best organized events I have ever participated in.  I have done many races, marathons, and triathlons, both USAT and NAS, and I would pick the Redman every time as my race of choice.  Great course, great race organization team and fantastic volunteers!  Simply the best!!!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

Kenny Teague   (2009)

…. I have enjoyed your venue so much.  ...I was so pleased with this venue, I brought many team members....   I will be bringing back more next year.  Keep up the good work.

Gerald - Negative Split Racing   (2009)

Thanks so much for putting on such a great event. My thanks to all the volunteers that helped at the aid stations and all the staff who made this an unforgettable experience for me at my first ½ ironman event.

Scott Selee    (2010)

Thank you for a wonderful event. My time was nowhere near what I had forecasted but this was the most rewarding race of my life. I have already told my best friend that he needs to start training so we can do this together next year.
- Kelli Rain   (2010)

I want to thank you guys for such a great experience.   This was my first (full)distance triathlon and it was a wonderful experience.   It was well worth the drive from South Carolina.
- Clark Davis   (2007)

It was the best organized race I have ever been to....   Not to take away from any races that I have done, but the Redman takes the cake, it is the best I have raced in.
- Fred Whitaker   (2008)

Redman has become a truly great event. Thanks for your leadership.
   - Drew Williamson   (2010)

Thank Dave the Director again for bearing the burden of this humongous undertaking and all it means to us participants.   Y'all are the best I have witnessed since 1979!  THANKS!
- John Clements #208   (2008)

…The venue is great….

…Everything was organized, easy to understand, and very well run….

…The volunteers brought me to tears - they were so incredible….

….The hospitality of the city was warm and welcoming….

…Everything was wonderful - except for miles 2 through 26.2 on the run.  :-)…       -  2006

...mention how amazing your staff and volunteers were at the race!  ....  (Redman) was clearly an athlete centered race.  From packet pick up to wetsuit strippers, bike course volunteers, aid stations, transition, finish line...  (everyone was) extremely encouraging, helpful, supportive, friendly, and extremely competent.   This was an amazing race, please thank your staff and all your volunteers.
- Hung Nguyen   (2010)

…You have all touched my life along the way.  I hope to return to others what you have given to me. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.   The experience was priceless.    (2006)

...Thanks Dave - I can only imagine how tired you must be.   Completing the race was probably easier than what you had to do.   But we are very grateful for all that you, your crew, and your volunteers did for all the athletes.  After being in this sport for over 25 years, my wife and I know good races from bad - you rank with the top ones.
Thanks Again,    Ken     (2010)

Incredibly WELL DONE to David Wood and all the REDMAN Triathlon organizers, officials, volunteers, and associates.

You did the impossible again, I suspect.  What great personalities and attitudes you displayed!  This was the best large scale activity I have ever seen........ Thank you and CONGRATULATIONS!

You are all incredible.... simply wonderful!

With great admiration,

James E. Whinnery Ph.D., M.D.   (2007)

Well I have to say I was really impressed with the entire race.... After completing two m-dot half's this year Redman was by far the best race I've done.  The aid stations and volunteers were amazing....  I will not soon forget the girl in the Dallas Cowboys jersey soaked to the bone cheering everyone on by name at the aid station....   I will definitely be putting this on the calendar again for next year.

 Tim Custer   (2009)

… At no point during the race did I encounter a volunteer that wasn't cheering me on, or asking me what they could do for me. Anything I needed, they had, and gladly brought it to me. I signed up for this race because of a recommendation…He told me how great the volunteers were and how great the race was. I can honestly say that what he said held true.   2006

This is Deborah Battaglia...  female winner for the past 2 years, sending on a small note of thanks for the fabulous experience at your event. Actually I cannot thank you enough for your generosity in hosting me in your town... I so value the small venue irondistance events, and yours is tops. I hadn’t realized that you all do this on a volunteer basis and I assure you that if I lived in your town, I would be so involved in your organization! The spirit of your committee and all the volunteers is infectious. The race was organized impecably well and I would like to especially thank all the volunteers on the bike course for ensuring safety. Whether I win or place last, I hope I can continue to come and enjoy your event. I look forward to next years race. And I promise to keep smiling throughout.

Sincerely

Deborah Battaglia   (2010)

I agree with everyone!  Cheers to all the race volunteers and staff that made it happen!  I thought it was tough training for this thing, I can't believe how dedicated and tough everyone was to get this thing going despite the conditions.  I love the folks in OKC, I definitely want to come back next year.  You guys rock.

- Matt Gilmartin    (2009)

I have done many triathlons and marathons, but the race staff and volunteers at Redman were several rungs above anything I have experienced elsewhere.  I am indeed grateful.

Boyd Seevers   (2007)
Minneapolis, MN

The Redman triathlon is a world-class event, managed by wonderful, caring people who work extremely hard to make it a supportive, beginner-friendly event.

(2008)

… You have the greatest volunteers.   I work several races in Shreveport and we have great volunteers, but yours are right up there.

All the rest stops were stocked everytime I came by.   I never had to worry about them not having a variety of foods and drinks.

I personally appreciated the two women at the run special needs area...

.... It was a good experience and I am thankful I came.

Michael S. Cook    (2009)

Great event!  This was my first TRI.

- Christan Templeton   (2009)

... The aid stations were awesome!  The good folks on the .....course had a huge impact on the racers and the outcome of this race.   They were so positive and enthusiastic that seeing them really buoyed my spirits and kept me pushing throughout the race!....     Kenny Teague   (2009)

Redman is truly a premier event.
Gratefully,
Frank Chenoweth   (2007)

"…I have told everyone that I have never seen such kindness, servitude, and encouragement in all my hundreds of races.  Ya'll were the best!!    P.S. Thank the path chalker man too...."
